Route on the interactive map

Walking time: approx. ¾ hour

Refreshment opportunity: Gräsalperstubo by the swimming pool

From the Kalbele lake to the Körber lake

Take the bus or car up to the Hochtannberg pass. From Körberkreuz a well-marked high-level path leads through beautiful countryside directly to the Körber lake. Since boats are available on the Körber lake, this walk is especially popular with children.

Walking time: approx. ¾ hour

Refreshment opportunity: Hotel Körbersee

Vorsäß Schalzbach mountain settlement

Take the riverside path up the valley from Schoppernau until approx. 400 m after the hydro-electric plant. Follow the asphalt road up the hill to the Vorsäß Schalzbach. A wonderful view opens out from the chapel at the top of the hill. Return by the same route.

Walking time: approx. 1 ½ hours

Over the Halde – Holdamoos Nature Discovery Centre to the “Holand”

Start from the bottom station of the Diedamskopf cable car and follow the asphalt road up to the Halde – at the first fork head to the right as far as the barn, then follow the footpath towards Holdamoos – Holand. Descend on the road towards Kirche Rehmen – Lebernau – Gasthof Schiff, then over the bridge and past the camp site via Gräsalp back to Schoppernau.

Walking time: approx. 1 ½ hours

Refreshment opportunity: Gasthaus Löwen

Vorsäß Boden – Bergkristall hut

Take the Gräsalp road to the Buchwald and cross the Dürrenbach footbridge. Turn left onto the woodland footpath until you reach the track leading to Steig and the Vorsäß Boden mountain settlement. The path climbs fairly steeply in the woods before reaching Vorsäß Boden (St. Michael’s chapel).

Or: from Au/Neudorf (camp site – Holländerheim – blue shutters) along the old road towards the Vorsäß Boden mountain settlement. Return via the same route.

Walking time: approx. 1 ½ hours

Refreshment opportunity: Bergkristall hut or Tobelalpe

Starting from the sawmill down from Schoppernau church, take the cattle trail to the hamlet of Gschwend. Continue along the farm track and then follow the main road as far as the tunnel. Pass this on the left side, rejoining the main road over the old bridge, and continue until you reach the bridge next to the hydro-electric plant. Turn left here along the riverside footpath to Vorderhopfreben, continuing along the path as far as the fork. Take the right fork towards Villa until your pass the Villa Maund, and continue to Hopfreben. Return via the same route or by bus.

Walking time: approx. 1 ¼ hours

The Villa Maund (worth a visit) was once a hunting lodge belonging to an English earl (approx. 1895) who, from time to time, hosted such illustrious personages as Crown Prince Wilhelm von Hohenzollern and other distinguished guests.

Riverside walk to Schnepfau and Mellau

Take the Gräsalp road over the bridge, and continue along the riverside path to the Dürrenbach footbridge and the camp site. Follow the cycle/footpath to Mellau.

Walking time: to Schnepfau approx. 1 ½ hours and to Mellau approx. 2 ½ hours.  The return trip is also possible by bus.

From Schröcken across the Auenfelder to Lech
