From May to October the bus ride to the Hochtannberg pass and the trip up on the Steffisalp cable car are free of charge with the Bregenzerwald Card, issued to all guests staying with us for 3 nights or more.

Pure unspoilt nature
Located at an altitude of 1,700 m, right under the Saloberkopf in the Lechquellengebirge, our mountain hut enjoys breathtaking alpine surroundings, with a host of rare animals and plants is just waiting to be discovered.
The best way to reach the hut is from the Hochtannberg pass via the Saloberkopf, and the easiest way of getting to the Hochtennberg pass is by taking the walkers’ bus. From here you can ride up the mountain on the Steffisalp cable car and walk over the Saloberkopf to the hut, approximately one hour on foot. Another option is to start out along the old road from Schröcken church: after approx. 15 minutes you reach the Körbersee fork; follow the farm track to the Batzenalpe and continue to the Auenfeldalpe.
Guided walks
In summer your host Viktor organises guided walks to the hut for his guests. (Alternative destinations may be offered should the weather be unwilling to co-operate!)
Photos from the last guided walks as well as lots of other fond holiday memories may be found in our picture gallery #wanderlustmitviktor
