In the Schrannenhof restaurant we serve only locally sourced produce. In this way we avoid unnecessary food miles.
Sustainable heat from wood
Our two power stations (the small one next to the Zündel holiday cottage and the big one in Gräsalp) also play an important role in the environmental protection of our region. Both power stations are fired by wood chips. Wood is a sustainably sourced local fuel which ranks, along with hydro-electrical power, as the principal and, importantly, indefinitely sustainable energy source in Vorarlberg. Both power stations together replace approx. 240,000 litres of oil per year.
